What is old wood?

The name actually answers your question. Wood is old and has often been exposed to heat, cold, snow, wind and rain over the decades. This gives the wood a unique character that cannot be faked. Over the years it acquires a unique look and style

The appearance depends on exposure to sunlight, wind and rain. The wood darkens when exposed to strong sunlight and remains lighter when the sun does not shine on it as often.

For this reason, there can be a big difference between boards coming from the south wall and from the north wall. Yet all the boards fit together nicely.

Our raw material comes from the demolition of old buildings. After disassembly, it is subjected to further processes to obtain a product of the highest quality and beautiful appearance.

Each piece of wood is selected by our experienced craftsmen where it is washed and stripped of nails.

Our products go into a drying chamber to get rid of moisture , fungi and insects at high temperatures. Most insects require moisture content above 10% to survive in wood. Drying hardens and strengthens the wood, and also improves its aesthetics.
